April 18, 2017: My first Crossbow Turkey

My first kill with a bow – using Nick’s crossbow. A perfect shot; in fact, almost too good – just about clipped his beard. Moments into legal, Nick called him in right off of the roost. He made a beeline for the decoy, took him right at it. He didn’t go but a few yards before collapsing. Ten and a half inch beard, 1 and 1/8″ spurs. A fine bird… Hooked on the crossbow!
