It’s nearing Christmas now, and I’m typing a blog post out that is going to be dated almost two months later than my last. This absolutely destroys the solemn oath I made myself take to not let weeks pass between blog posts, as was the case last season. After all… this IS the time of year – the traditions that this very season blesses us with, and that we embrace – that inspired my photography and the blogging to begin with…
After last season’s consistent frustration, and much less consistent posting, I have vowed to be more true to my self-assigned position as interpreter of that which takes place between man and migrator, to report on and reflect upon such activities as dutifully as I reasonably could. Well, for those of you checking dates on posts, this fellow will be found to have been a bit lax in his duties. I’ll forego detailed excuses and leave it at the standard “busy season”, with blame diverted in equal parts to hunting, family, and work. Oh, and this little project you’ve stumbled on here (this blog!), by whatever path you may have found this.
Yes, after a very long time of wanting to do this, BentonBoyd.com has a much, very much needed face lift Many of you may find this via another project – Kansas Outdoorsman – where I have been maintaining a blog project with a tight-knit group of like-minded partners in-crime. We brethren of field and stream share our tales of fin and feather there, at KansasOutdoorsman.com, and most of what you find in the blog here will be re-posts from what I write there. Head over that way and check out what is going on in the Outdoors in the Midwest – and often beyond, as you’ll find much of my writing references that particular circle of friends and our adventures.
That’s the new part, for those of you who have visited BentonBoyd.com before, expecting nothing more than my waterfowl photo gallery. I now have all of my ramblings from KansasOutdoorsman.com and my photography hobby in one place that will be both easier for you to view and enjoy, while also being easier for me to manage and connect the stories with the galleries. I do hope you will enjoy.
Please do note that I am behind on getting everything reloaded. While I am not quite as far behind on photography for this season as I am blogging (galleries are actually up to date for this season!) I do have a lot of past seasons that are not yet up. Bear with me as I reproduce some of those for spot removal and effects – taking my time to improve my images was a big draw in doing this for me.
It’s all been enough to keep me too busy to post much in the way of blog entries… but I do intend to catch up. Be sure to check back soon as I try and get a recap of the first half of the season in place to go with some of the pics you’ll find in my 2012-2013 gallery.
And please, feel free to leave me a comment with ideas or thoughts. Thanks for visiting!
