Youth Waterfowl Weekend has always been among my very favorite weekends of the year. Nothing like the excitement of seeing kids get hooked. I like to think my own son, now grown, is passionate about the birds at least partly because I made sure he had opportunities and exposure like this growing up. Now he doesn’t miss many weekends afield.
And I still don’t miss the youth waterfowl weekend in Kansas.
Every year I try and get kids out, and this year was a good one.
